Old Hotel Could Get New Look: Arlington Seeks Public Input On Red Lion Inn Redevelopment

Arlington officials are asking the public to weigh in on the redevelopment of the Red Lion Inn.

Orr Partners took over redevelopment plans for the Arlington Boulevard and Fairfax Drive hotel in 2019, and hope to transform it into a condo building and hotel.

Orr Partners is hoping to rezone the hotel — which was built in the 1950s and formerly known as the Best Western Iwo Jima hotel — along with the Ellis Arms apartment next door.

Orr is proposing 443,947 square feet of residential apartments, a maximum of 446 units, in an 8-story multifamily building, complete with parking along Fairfax Drive.
